Global Partners held another successful internship program this year. Thirty-two students spent 10 weeks with 19 different Global departments. They were given the opportunity to gain skills and exposure working full-time and had the same flexible work options as full-time employees. In addition to their day-to-day work, they had the opportunity to:
- Attend weekly lunch and learn sessions with executives
- Participate in a personal development workshop
- Work on a group research project for the end of the program and present their findings to our executive team
- Take field trips to our terminals and stores
A highlight of the program was their final group project where interns researched a topic of real-world interest to the business. This year’s research topics were on corporate culture, marketing, DEI, acquisitions and marketing the internship program.
“It has been great to see what this class of interns learned during their time here,” said Mathew Campbell, Director of Learning and Development at Global. “We are happy to provide meaningful opportunities for students in our community to grow professionally.”
This program also encourages interns to return to Global. Over the life of the program, Global has had more than 20 interns return as full-time employees.
